People Are Freaking Out Over Ayesha Curry's Secret Guacamole Ingredient

  • Ayesha Curry revealed a very uncommon ingredient in her guacamole recipe on The Ellen Show Wednesday.
  • In addition to avocado, red onion, and garlic, Ayesha said she also adds in Havarti cheese.
  • Neither Ellen nor her guest, Jennifer Aniston, tried the guacamole, but both were intrigued.

Ayesha Curry’s clearly got some skills in the kitchen. The mom of three and wife to NBA star Stephen Curry has her own cooking show on the Food Network and a best-selling cookbook, but her latest appearance on The Ellen Show has some people questioning her cooking chops.

Ayesha appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’s show Wednesday to promote her upcoming EllenTube series, “Fempired With Ayesha Curry,” and whipped up a few of her favorite recipes, including a mango lemonade cocktail, an egg noodle pasta, and her secret recipe for chips and guac.

Ayesha revealed that she actually uses pita chips for her “chips” part of chips and guac, but she really stunned the audience with what she puts in the guac itself. “”The way my guacamole works, and I think it’s the best guacamole, is I add a lot of fixins,” she said.

Ayesha started listing the ingredients in her guac: fresh garlic, red onion, and…Havarti cheese, which she said could be replaced by a vegan cheese, (FYI: Havarti cheese is a soft, meltable cheese, similar to Swiss).

In sync, Ellen and Jennifer Aniston (Ellen’s other guest) let out a big “WHOAAAAAA!”Ellen added, “That’s new,” and Aniston added, “That is new,” with a somewhat concerned look on her face.

Curry said she also adds in a little cilantro, salt and pepper to taste, and lime (to keep the guac from turning brown). Aniston was definitely on board with that tip.

While neither Ellen nor Jen tried Ayesha’s now-infamous guac on the air, it’s clearly raised quite a few eyebrows. Regardless, it’s worth a try, right?
