This Self-Care Ritual Has Made Meghan Markle So Much Happier

As a philanthropist, entrepreneur and member of the royal family, Meghan Markle is undeniably busy. Which begs the question: how does she manage to juggle it all without losing her sh*t on the reg?!

According to a re-earthed post c/o (now defunct) lifestyle blog The Tig, it’s all thanks to this daily self-care habit: Vedic meditation.

Back in 2015, she shared her musings on the mantra-based method, including the mental health benefits she’d experienced after just 12-months of practice.

“Last week marked the one-year anniversary of my relationship with meditation, something I found endlessly daunting at first (the thoughts, the distractions, the boredom of it,) but soon because the quietude that rocked my world,” she said. “I can’t put my finger on the why or the how, but I will tell you this much, for me… I am just happier. And meditation has much to do with that.”

It sure sounds convincing, but how does one actually do it?!

Quoting her meditation coach, Light Watkins, Meghan explained it involves resisting any thoughts that pop into your head, including “ideas, songs, conversations, images, feelings or sensations” and embracing “all mental experiences without concern, remorse or regret.”

As a result, VM devotees can expect “more success, more fulfilment, more happiness, less worry.”

“I urge you to give it a shot,” she added. “The worst thing that can happen is that you give yourself ten minutes of quiet in an endlessly loud world.”

We’ll have to take your word for it, Megs.
