Applebee’s Is Bringing Back the OG Dollarita This Month in Honor of Cinco de Mayo

The drink that started it all is back on Applebee’s menus for the month of May. The Dollarita, American’s favorite $1 marg, first launched in October 2017, caused a whole lot of people to freak the f*ck out—and then complain that the insanely inexpensive drinks weren’t strong enough.

In any event, a tradition was formed, and since then Applebee’s Neighborhood Drink of the Month has without a doubt become a thing. We’ve seen Strawberry Margs, Hurricanes, Captain and Cola’s, and beers pop up as the $1 and $2 drinks of the month, with the original Dollarita circling back to menus last April. Applebee’s ended up keeping the cheap margs on the menu through May 5, joining the May 2018 drink, $2 Dos Equis beers.

This month, Applebee’s cut right to the chase and timed the comeback to arguably the most margarita-centric holiday, Cinco de Mayo (which celebrates Mexico’s victory over France in the Franco-Mexican War, FYI).

The drink, in case you’ve yet to try it, is served in a 10-ounce mug with tequila and a classic margarita mix. Again, you can order them all month long at participating Applebee’s locations nationwide—just drink responsibly, please and thank you.

Should you have any questions about the dollar drinks, here are some thoughts from the good people of Twitter:

I wanna go to Applebee’s and drink dollaritas fri-sun 🤷🏻‍♀️

Dollaritas doing me good again 🥰

Server: What do you do for fun on a Friday night?
Me: well half off apps and a mess load of dollaritas at applebees and being asleep by 11 is my kind of fun.
Server: You sound like a middle aged dad.
That might be the highest compliment I have ever received in my entire life.
