J.Lo Just Hopped on the Curtain Bangs Bandwagon
Curtain bangs have been having a moment lately. The lengthy fringe has been spotted all over social media and, of course, on a few celebrities too. Gabrielle Union revealed a set of sleek bangs that fell just past her cheekbones in September 2020. Rihanna tried the look on for size in a retro-themed Savage X Fenty shoot in March. Just a few weeks later in April, Anne Hathway emerged with her honey-brown hair cut with — you guessed it — a set of side-swept curtain bangs. Now, Jennifer Lopez is the latest to debut the face-framing fringe, indicating that the look will probably continue to go strong through the summer.
Hairstylist Chris Appleton posted a few shots of J.Lo's new hair to his Instagram feed on May 14. In the photo, the Allure March 2021 cover star is sitting pretty in a white tee with long, sleek hair and bangs, working her angles in each photo.
Her golden, blonde-highlighted hair falls well past her waist, with nary a strand out of place. The hairstyle itself is center-parted, bone-straight, and impossibly sleek — Appleton definitely made sure his flatiron was plugged in and hot with a capital H. (If you're in the market for an affordable hot tool, we love the Kristin Ess 3-in-One Flatiron.) Of course, J.Lo's bangs are styled in a curtain-esque manner, pushed to either side, allowing her forehead to show. The ends of her bangs have the slightest bend outward to frame her face.
As always, Lopez looks absolutely gorgeous with her fringe. If you're looking for a new haircut, curtain bangs are a great option. The longer length of the fringe doesn't require a ton of maintenance, and if you wind up liking your longer bangs and want to go shorter, you can gradually do so without chopping off too much. We love a cut that gives you options and with a vaxxed summer on the horizon, now's as good a time as any to get a new haircut.
