Maisie Williams Pays Homage to Arya Stark With Her "Game of Thrones"-Inspired Tattoo
A girl has no name — and now, thanks to Maisie Williams's newest tattoo, she'll never forget it. This past Sunday, July 22, the actress, who plays Arya Stark on the HBO hit show, took to Instagram to repost a Story from celebrity tattoo artist, Mr. K, of what appears to be the design for her latest piece of Game of Thrones–inspired ink.
"Guess who is getting [a] 'no one' tattoo?" Mr. K asked using the "Questions" feature in his Story. Williams then reposted the shot, adding a series of "hang loose" hand emojis over the question. As seen in Mr. K's design, the dainty tat consists simply of the words "No One" written in a typewriter-style font. The tattoo is presumably a reference to the lesson Williams's character learns in season six from the Faceless Man, Jaqen H'ghar: "a girl is no one."

This isn't the first tattoo Williams has gotten to commemorate her role on the fan-favorite series. In 2016, Williams and her onscreen sister, offscreen best friend, Sophie Turner got matching "07.08.09" tats on their forearms, in honor of the date they both found out they had been cast in Game of Thrones. "We always kind of said we want matching [tattoos]," Turner told E! News shortly after the Stark sisters got them done. "The date was always really significant, and then with Thrones, we were always planning from season one, like, if we make it all the way through, hopefully we could all get a matching thing." She added, "We don't know if we're going to make it, so Maisie and I were like, 'Let's get these ones before anyone kills us!'"
Like Williams, Turner has also expanded her collection of GoT-inspired body art. Just last month, tattoo artist Lauren Winzer shared a photo of Turner's arm, freshly adorned with a picture of a direwolf and the words, "The pack survives" in the same typewriter-esque font as Williams's new design. It's possible that Mr. K (who works at the infamous Bang Bang tattoo parlor in NYC) used the font on Turner's tat as his guide for Williams's, since, according to Instagram, Turner was also at Bang Bang a few days ago (she and fiancé Joe Jonas each got meaningful tats in honor of their grandfathers).
Now, anyone else in the mood to rewatch season six?
