Woman who didn’t want to be ‘fat mum’ at school gates sheds NINE dress sizes on this plan
At her heaviest, Chloe Newbound would struggle walking her children to school when she tipped the scales at 26st.
The mum, from Rotherham, first noticed her weight creeping up in her early teens when she had to shop in plus size sections.
Determined not to be “the fat mum at the school gates”, Chloe decided it was time to start her weight loss journey.
She began changing her eating habits, which regularly saw her tucking into family-sized bags of crisps, and joined Slimming World.
“I didn’t want them to be ashamed of me”

Chloe said: “In their assemblies I’d sit on one of the folding chairs and spend the whole time dreading it was about to snap under me.
“I was supposed to be enjoying something special with my kids but that was all I could think, how mortified I’d be if I ended up on the floor.”
Now in just 15 months, the mum-of-two has dropped an incredible nine dress sizes and lost 10st – more than the total weight of both her children.
She added: “I didn’t want them to be ashamed of me, or hear from their friends ‘your mum’s fat’. No wonder I was always exhausted and my knees, my hips and my back would hurt so badly if I walked anywhere.
“I never did any kind of exercise and I ate the wrong things because I didn’t have a good knowledge of what I should be eating and portion control.”
After losing the weight, the mum claims she hasn’t had to cut much out of her diet.
She explained: “I know what I’m putting in my body now and nothing’s banned, you’ve just got to know how to make it the Slimming World way, with lots of veg and salad.
“I have three nice big meals a day so I don’t really need to snack in between, which was always my downfall, but if I want a bag of crisps I can have one – I just have a regular size instead of a giant one and I plan it into my day as a treat.”
Now instead of struggling with the short walk to her children’s school, she regularly goes on fie and seven-mile walks.
“My friends can’t believe it, but I actually enjoy exercise,” the mum laughed. She concluded: “I wanted to be around for a long time for my kids, but I knew the weight I was, I was going to have health problem after health problem.
“Whenever I went to the doctors, they’d always mention my BMI but now for the first time I don’t get a lecture anymore.”
